Síndrome de la cabaña

Se está hablando del famoso “Síndrome de la Cabaña” que implicaría el miedo a salir de casa luego del confinamiento. Aun no hay acuerdo entre los psicólogos sobre este concepto, ya que se trata de un síndrome y no un trastorno y no hay suficiente investigación ni bibliografía científica sobre el tema. Consiste en un conjunto de reacciones de temor e inquietud que suscita a un individuo ante un cambio inminente de entorno, del aislamiento a un ámbito de movimiento y relación normales.

En nuestros deseos prevalece la idea de salir, pero la realidad es que algunos pueden tener miedo de hacerlo, luego de tantos días de encierro. Tener miedo es normal y hasta saludable para poder preservarnos y estar un poco mas alertas. Lo perjudicial es cuando ese miedo nos limita, nos paraliza y nos provoca otros síntomas psicológicos como la ansiedad, los ataques de pánico, el insomnio o el estrés. El miedo hace que nos imaginemos las peores posibilidades, pero si tratamos de tener pensamientos positivos que nos ayuden a sentirnos mejor, y a poder salir tranquilos, podremos disminuir ese miedo.

Te recomiendo empezar a salir de forma gradual para poder ir manejando la ansiedad y la fobia que puede existir allá afuera. Si no intentamos salir cuando este permitido, el miedo no desaparecerá y por el contrario, puede aumentar y convertirse en un trastorno de ansiedad con agorafobia. Estar encerrados por tanto tiempo es una situación nueva para la mayoría de las personas, y volver a salir luego de eso también.

Aunque en general no tengamos dificultades tenemos que saber que en una situación de pandemia, pueden surgir nuevos síntomas como la hipocondría, la tendencia a la depresión, la falta de tolerancia a la incertidumbre y la frustración.

Mi sugerencia es que hables, que expreses esos temores, que intentes entenderlos, validarlos, que no te sientas raro o enfermo por sentirte así, que planifiques y pruebes de a poco, de acuerdo a tus posibilidades, que no te obligues pero tampoco te paralices…

Si notas que tenes síntomas como ansiedad y miedo, además de una incertidumbre mayor de lo normal ante el desconfinamiento progresivo no dudes en  pedir ayuda psicológica.
